Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank will begin in mid-August, Ariel Sharon said. Asked by a television interviewer Monday when the government’s “disengagement plan” would get under way, Sharon said, “Immediately after Tisha B’Av, on August 15, 17 or 16? I don’t want to commit myself to an exact date.”
