The Hebrew University today granted Prof. Friedrich S. Bodenheimer, the entomologist, a three-year leave of absence to reorganize the entomological service of the Turkish Government. Dr. Bodenheimer will direct the new Central Institute of Entomology at Ankara and will also act as a professor on the faculty of Ankara University. He attained world renown ten years ago when, on an expedition into the Sinai Peninsula, he rediscovered the “manna” mentioned in the Bible. More recently, he attracted attention by his experiments with flies, from which he adduced data for a new scientific view of historic, political and sociological events.
