Jacob Finkelstein an American-born Jew who fights under the name of Jackie Fields, won the welterweight boxing championship of the world here tonight when he was fouled in the second round of a fifteen-round bout by Johnny Dundee the champion. The end came after Fields had knocked his opponent down twice and had him reeling around the ring. To save himself from further punishment, Dundee fouled the Jewish boy.

Fields is twenty-one years old. He was born in Los Angeles but moved to Chicago at an early age, where his prowess with his fists attracted the attention of an Irishman named Rooney. Rooney took him in hand and developed him into a fighter of the highest caliber. Since 1925 Fields has been prominent in fistic circles. His fight against Dundee marked the forty-fifth battle in his ring career. He is a favorite with the Jewish people of Chicago and is known in Y. M. H. A. branches throughout the country.
