The problem of restitution of Jewish property to Jewish communities in Poland was raised today during a conference of Minister for Public Administration Edward B. Osubka-Morawski and a Central Jewish Committee delegation.
At the same time, the deputation informed the Minister that many Jewish cemeteries in small towns and out-of-the-way communities are in an abject state, since ?ew Jews had returned to those areas and because in some instances the local Polish ?ion was systematically destroying the neglected burial grounds. The delegation was assured by Osubka-Morawski that the government would protect the Jewish cemeteries as places of a religious nature.”
