The Jewish Labor Committee today denounced as “unmitigated falsehood” the statement made yesterday before the House Committee on Un-American activities by Louis Harlap, managing editor of the publication, “Jewish Life,” who declared that Jews are better off in the Soviet Union than in the United States.

The Jewish Labor Committee charged that millions of Jews mysteriously disappeared in the Soviet Union and that the Soviet authorities liquidated the Jewish schools, Jewish press and all Jewish cultural institutions.
