Sydney J. van den Bergh, Minister of Defense and the only Jew in the Dutch Cabinet, sent his resignation to Queen Juliana here this weekend. The resignation was caused by personal reasons. Mr. van den Bergh’s name figured last week in a divorce case in San Diego, Calif.
Mr. van den Bergh is a retired Major-General in the Dutch Army, and was formerly paymaster-general for the Army.
