Capt. Mark A. Abramowitz, Jewish chaplain for the Second Military Region of Vietnam, has forwarded a check to the Jewish National Fund for planting trees in Israel by Jewish soldiers stationed in his region. In a letter accompanying the check, Capt. Abramowitz stated: “As the rabbi covering the Second Military Region of Vietnam I represent the Jewish personnel of many military installations. Recently, we collected funds for purchasing trees in Israel….Fortunately, there aren’t that many Jewish men stationed here any more, so the number of plantings are few. We send our very best wishes for a Happy Pesach.”
