A Russian Jewish pianist, 18-year-old Eugene Moguilevsky, won the first prize in the 1964 Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition today. He was born in Odessa and took his first lessons from his mother, who teachers at the conservatory there. He later studied at the Moscow Conservatory. The first prize consists of a vermilion medal and $3, 000.
