“The Jews in Poland are afraid to enter into organized religious activities, despite the understanding cooperation offered to religious Jews by the Polish Government,” it was reported today by Rabbi Harry Bronstein following his return from a six-week mission in Poland.

Rabbi Bronstein was delegated by the American Agudah Organization primarily to cope with the problem of uncircumsized children in Poland, because of the lack of a mohel on the scene. He reported that during his stay, he trained three mohelim, and personally circumsized 141 repatriated children between the ages of 18 months and 18 years. He estimated that there are still 1, 000 uncircumsized repatriated Jewish children in Poland.

The Agudah emissary deplored the lack of organization among religious Jews in Poland, which he called the primary reason for the fact that this past Purim in Warsaw there were an insufficient number of Jews to complete a minyon for the reading of the Megilah. Agudath Israel stated that the organization expects to delegate Rabbi Bronstein toreturn to Poland after Passover.
