A new racket; taking root in Germany’s racial laws, has developed and is rapidly spreading throughout the country, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned today.
The new racket seizes upon the “rassenschande” (race defilement) laws particularly. Racketeering Nazis, bent on profiting from the plight of the hapless Jews, threaten Jews with denunciation for race defilement unless they pay over large sums. Most of those so threatened prefer to pay the “Aryan” extortioners rather than risk being arrested and placed in concentration camps.
Occasionally, one of these extortioners is caught redhanded and arrested. Such a case occurred yesterday at Landschut where Carol Heber, local “Aryan”, was arrested for sending a letter to a Jew demanding that a large sum be deposited in a certain place on pain of being denounced.
