Largest Jewish Meeting Held in Davenport Condemns White Paper; Boston Jews Join Protest

Several thousand Jews from this city and Rock Island and Moline, Illinois, attended a meeting in protest against the British White Paper on Palestine. Among the non-Jews who addressed the meeting were Father Martin O’Connell, Rev. J. Vance, Rev. F. Rohlff and School Superintendent J. Hagan. Among the Jewish speakers were Rabbi Aaron Lefkowitz, Rabbi Sholom Bozman and Bernard Krusa of Chicago. Rabbi David Graubart was chairman of the meeting, which was the largest Jewish meeting ever held in this city.
