Leading American labor leaders called for American support of Israel at a conference here last night of the West Coast Israel Histadrut Campaign. Some 1,500 delegates and guests attended the affair.
Among the speakers were: CIO president Walter P. Reuther; Michael J. Quill, president of the Transport Workers Union of America, who recently toured Israel as a guest of the Histadrut; Moshe Alon, Consul of Israel in Los Angeles, and Judge David Coleman, president of the Los Angeles Jewish Community Council. Special tribute was paid to David Tuviahu, Mayor of Beersheba, who is visiting this city.
