Max Kops, corset manufacturer of Riverdale, N. Y., who died on May 16, 1932, left $20,000 to various charitable institutions and $15,000 to his employees, according to a transfer tax appraisal filed here yesterday The estate was valued at $686,866 gross and has a net value of $638,672.
In his will Mr. Kops bequeathed $10,000 to the Kops Foundation of Mount Sinai Hospital, and $10,000 to his executor to be distributed among whatever charities are designated by his wife, Jessie Kops.
The Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies received $4,000. Montefiore Hospital and the Eisman Day Nursery received $1,000 each. The Catholic Charities, the New York Association for Improving the Condition of the Poor, and Congregation Cherud Shaarey Hashomayim, received $500 each. The remainder was distributed among eight other charitable institutions in varying amounts.
