Mrs. Lillian Swope Kaufmann, wife of Edmund I. Kaufmann, retired merchant and philanthropist, died at her home here this morning after a brief illness.

Mrs. Kaufmann, who travelled extensively with her husband in this country and Europe, was prominent in Washington charities. She was a member of the Council of Jewish Women and a former treasurer of the Washington Hebrew Congregation.
