One man was fined 10 pounds ($28. 00) and three others seven pounds ($20.00) today on charges of insulting behavior in the anti-Semitic incidents, which marred the inauguration on November 12 of Sir Bernard Waley-Cohen as London, now Lord Mayor.

The four defendants are members of the semi-Fascist British National Party. One of the men was also fined an additional seven pounds and three guineas (about $29.00) for assaulting a police officer.

A police superintendent testified at the hearing that after the defendant tossed fire crackers at the procession and the group chanted “We don’t want a Jewish Lord Mayor,” a general fracas developed when onlookers turned on the anti-Semites.
