Confirmation of reports reaching here yesterday from Russia that George Lubarsky, chief agronomist of the Agro-Joint, American Jewish Joint Agricultural Corporation, which carries on agricultural activities in Russia, had been arrested in Russia, was obtained here today by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency from Dr. Joseph Rosen, director of the Agro-Joint, who is here to consult with Dr. Bernard Kahn, European director of the Joint Distribution Committee.

While the reason for Mr. Lubarsky’s arrest is not known, Dr. Rosen told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that it had no connection with his Agro-Joint activities and he expected that Lubarsky would be released shortly.
