Miss Brussels, Pianist, Gets Matthews Award

Miss Iris Brussels, local pianist, has been awarded the Matthews’ Memorial piano award, offered by Helen Matthews de Laschmutt of Baltimore in honor of her mother. The prize was given in recognition of her piano composition, “Theme and Variations,” which Miss Brussels composed last summer and which was played for the first time in public at the Men’s Club of Temple Emanuel musicale on January 11.
