In the compass of Dr. Adler’s outlook upon Jewish life, the work of the reconstruction of Palestine occupied a significant position.”
Jewish Labor Committee, in a telegram to the American Jewish Committee: “Please accept our sincerest condolences at the demise of your great president. The loss of Dr. Cyrus Adler at this crucial time will be deeply felt by all sections of the Jewish community. Dr. Adler was held in high regard by all of us for the many invaluable services he rendered our people.”
Union of American Hebrew Congregations, Robert P. Goldman, president: “The Union of American Hebrew Congregations extends sincere sympathy. Cyrus Adler was an outstanding educator and a great champion of civil and religious rights. He was a statesman of high order, a devoted Jew and an American patriot, dedicated to the preservation of democracy and religion. His untimely demise will be felt keenly by all those interested in education.”
