More than 150 rabbis gathered outside United Nations headquarters in New York to urge international action in the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Darfur. The rabbis who protested Monday, representing the Reform, Conservative, Orthodox and Reconstructionist movements, urged the international community to intervene to halt the deaths of Sudanese who fled government-sponsored Arab militias that have killed tens of thousands of people over the past few years.
