Mrs. Joseph Willen, New York civic leader, was today elected president of the National Council of Jewish Women at the biennial convention of the organization. She succeeds Mrs. Charles Hymes of Minneapolis.
The convention was addressed today by Miss Dina Karlin, assistant chief social worker for the Israel Ministry of Health, who called for increased social work training in Israel. Miss Karlin is one of 12 Israeli educators and social workers now doing graduate work in the United States through an NCJW overseas fellowship. One hundred and eighty-seven educators and welfare specialists from Jewish communities abroad have received Council fellowships.
