A “National Front of Solidarity” has been organized in Turkey to support the government’s drive against ultra-nationalists and racists including anti-Semites, it was announced here. The organization, designed to “defend liberties” from “Nazi-type racist or Communist movements,” is composed of 26 national groups including labor, youth, educators, veterans and professionals.

Meanwhile, Ismet Inonu, former President and leader of the opposition in Parliament, has backed the government’s anti-racist drive. Mr. Inonu was President in 1942 when the Turkish Government enacted a discriminatory anti-minority tax which virtually ruined all Jewish businessmen in the country.
