The biennial convention of the National Jewish Welfare Board opens here tomorrow at the Hotel Statler to discuss various problems concerning the strengthening of Jewish community life and the activities of Jewish community centers throughout the country.
The convention will also review the religious and morale services operated by the J.W.B. for the 200,000 Jewish servicemen and women in the U.S. armed forces. The delegates will also take up the question of cementing relations between Jewish community centers and Jewish community bodies such as welfare funds, federations and community councils. W. Averell Harriman, director of the Mutual Security Administration, will be one of the principal speakers at the convention.
