Nazi Bishop Spurs Drive Upon Jews

Reichsbishop Mueller, addressing 1,500 pastors last night, predicted that “the decreasing anti-Jewish movement in Germany must flare up again.”

The Reichsbishop declared that the leaders of the Nazi movement will not tolerate the fact that German Christians are continuing to patronize Jewish shops.

The Voelkischer Beobachter, Hitler’s chief organ, reporting today the mannikin parade which was organized for “Aryan” tailor shops for the purpose of pushing Jews out of the dressmaking industry, states that the Jewish tailoring industry in Germany is now completely ruined.

‘ARYAN’ FIRMS INCREASE

“While on January 30, 1933, there were only twelve ‘Aryan’ dressmaking firms in Germany, today there are over 300,” the Voelkischer Beobachter emphasizes. “The Jewish role in our tailoring industry has been reduced to non-existence. It is especially small in the cities of middle Germany.”

The supreme Jewish representative body in Germany, the Reichsvertretung der Deutschen Jueden, issued a statement explaining how matters stand under the new conscription law, in view of the doubt which exists among many German Jews about their position with regard to the conscription of the class of 1935 now in progress.
