Amid catcalls and shouts of “down with the Jews,” a band of Nazis today attacked guests at a ball sponsored by the Heine Club. Although but few of those present were Jews, the literateurs and scientists in attendance were terrorized by the hooligans. The uproar continued until the police cleared out the entire hall. The Club is seeking to raise funds for a monument to Heinrich Heine in his native city.
