President Nixon today appointed a Jew as United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James. Walter H. Annenberg was named Ambassador to Britain. The 60-year-old publisher, who has had no previous diplomatic experience, was expected to go to his post, following Senate confirmation, upon Mr. Nixon’s return from his coming European trip. The Ambassador-designate is president of Triangle Publications, Inc. of Philadelphia, including the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News and the Daily Racing Form.
