“The Jews need not hope that modification of the employment laws will restore Jewish rights to employment. Only those of German blood can be given work,” Herr Sprenger, Reich’s commissar for Hesse, declared in an address before a Frankfurt mass-meeting.
Sprenger’s interpretation referred to modifications of the employment laws through which many Jews hoped for reinstatement in certain categories. The present modifications, he said, were of a temporary nature, but the employment law will remain basically the same as is provided in Article 25 of the program of the National Socialist party.
