“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your people have done for my country,” said Ignatz Jan Paderewski, famous pianist and former Premier of Poland, to Isidore Hershfield, Washington representative of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, at the end of his concert here last week. When the concert was over, Mr. Hirshfield made his way to Paderewski to say that he and Mrs. Hershfield had spent three interesting years in Poland after the armistice in Jewish relief work, and as a result got this reply from M. Paderewski. Mr. Hershfield is also president of the Washington Zionist District.
