A ten percent increase in the price of petroleum products will go into effect tomorrow to cover “large-scale destruction by Jewish terrorists of certain oil installations in Haifa, ” it was announced today.
The announcement further states that the oil companies will turn over the proceeds of the increase to the government which will use the funds for developmental schemes in the “closest possible consultation with the Arab community. “Unless further damage is caused by extremists the tax will be in effect for twelve to fifteen months.
