Palestinian officials claimed that Israel has established a buffer zone in the Gaza Strip. Israel Radio quoted Palestinian sources Monday as saying that Israeli security forces had established a buffer zone ranging in width from a kilometer to three kilometers between Beit Hanoun and Bait Lahiya in northern Gaza and near the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
