The United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh seemed nearly half-way towards achievement of its $2, 030,000 campaign goal at its opening dinner at the Hilton Hotel here. Joseph M. Katz, 1962 campaign chairman, announced that $857, 500 was raised during the evening. This amount is 43 percent of the drive’s objective and the largest sum to be given at a campaign opening in the last ten years, he said.
