The reports of the Palestine earthquake caused wide concern throughout Poland, which has the largest Jewish population in Europe. The Jewish newspapers in Warsaw, Cracow and other centers issued extra editions as crowds gathered at the Zionist offices and other Jewish institutions clamoring for news from the Holy Land.

The office of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here was besieged by hundreds awaiting the receipt of further details.
