The Jewish Central Committee here was informed today that the Pope has intervened with the Bulgarian Government in behalf of the Jews in Bulgaria and especially on the question of permitting several thousand Jewish children to leave Bulgaria for Palestine.
The news of the Pope’s action was transmitted to the Jewish organization by Archbishop Martinez of Mexico before whom a Jewish delegation appeared some time ago asking that the Pope be requested to intervene with the Bulgarian Government against the anti-Jewish persecutions.
