Otto Frank, the father of Anne Frank, was received in audience this weekend by Pope John XXIII, who told Mr. Frank that he was glad the “flower sown” by Anne Frank had flourished, and that the “Diary of Anne Frank had been spread throughout the world for a better understanding among men.
The Pope also expressed his pleasure over the creation in Israel of the Italian Anne Frank Center, by contributions from Italians, Mr. Frank presented the Pope with a special edition of “The Works of Anne Frank.”
