Pope Pius XII yesterday received Moses A. Leavitt, executive vice-chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee, and Jacob L. Trobe, its director in Italy.
They discussed the general situation of the displaced and other Jews of Europe. The Pope expressed the hope that the problem of the 230,000 displaced Jews in Germany, Austria and Italy would be solved shortly.
