Premiere of Tercentenary Symphony to Be Given in Washington

The world premiere of a symphonic eulogy, “Ahavah,” (love) by David Diamond, commissioned by the American Jewish Tercentenary Committee will be given by the National Symphony Orchestra November 17 at Constitution Hall.

The concert, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Jewish settlement in America, will be presented under the auspices of the Tercentenary Committee of Greater Washington in cooperation with the national tercentenary committee.

Other works to be presented at the concert will be Ernest Bloch’s “Israel Symphony” and Leonard Bernstein’s “The Age of Anxiety. “
