President Clinton will not fly into the newly opened Palestinian airport in the Gaza Strip when he visits the region next week. Israel, aware of the symbolism of the landing at Gaza, asked that Clinton fly by helicopter to the Gaza Strip, land at an alternate site and then drive to Gaza City for talks with Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat.
