Private German citizens have contributed $62,500 so far to a fund for slave and forced laborers, according to the German newspaper Tagesspiegel. Applications for payments from the approximately $5.2 billion fund, which is mainly being supported by German companies and the German government, are expected to be sent out before the end of this year.
