A movement to combat Hitler propaganda in this country has been initiated by the “Friends of German Democracy”, an organization describing itself as an affiliate of the suppressed Reichsbanner body in Germany, it was announced here yesterday.

A boycott of German goods was called for in a resolution made public by Henry W. Goldsmith, vice-president of the organization, which will make every effort to persuade authorities here not to allow display of the swastika flag during Memorial Day services planned by German-American societies. They will also ask that the detachment of American soldiers usually assigned on this occation, be withdrawn.

The local group is described as a branch of an international organization. Its officers are Bruno Wagner, president; Mr. Goldsmith, vice-president, and Karl Kluge, secretary.
