Rep. Celler Will Introduce Amendments to the Immigration Law

Rep. Emanuel Celler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, today visited the White House and reported to President Truman on his six-weeks trip to Europe to study immigration problems. After leaving the White House, he said that he would introduce amendments to revise some of the features of the new immigration law which becomes effective tomorrow. He especially condemned the provisions of the law which lifts bars against admission of Nazis to the United States.
