Rep. John Rankin today blocked House consideration of a bill to extend the time limit for displaced persons entering the United States. Rankin objected to a request that the House agree unanimously to consider the bill today.

The bill, which would extend the deadline for entrance under DP visas, can still be brought up through the regular procedure but it will take additional time.
