Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur were declared legal holidays in an order issued by the Labor Ministry.

According to the provisions of the order, Jewish employers are compelled to release their Jewish employees for these days, without deducting from their salaries for the absence.

A new Orthodox Yiddish weekly was established under the editorship of J. Schehner at Siget Marmaros. The paper will be called the “Yiddish Volkszeitung.”

A Poale Zion Labor center was opened yesterday in Czernowitz. The building will house the school, youth clubs and library of the organization.
