Sari Nusseibeh denied reports that he resigned as the Palestinian official for Jerusalem affairs. Reports Tuesday said Nusseibeh had resigned from the post amid sharp “differences of opinion” with Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat, particularly over Nusseibeh’s calls for the Palestinians to forfeit the “Right of Return.”
