Schools Suspend Classes in Tribute to Late Rev. Milkovsky

Classes in the United Hebrew Schools of Detroit were suspended this morning in tribute to the late Rev. H. Milkovsky, funeral services for whom were held in the Philadelphia-Byron School today.

Rev. Milkovsky, in his day recognized as one of the ablest singers and masters of music among the cantors of America, died Thursday morning after a prolonged illness. His wife, his daughter, Mrs. Betty Becker, his son-in-law, and Cantor H. H. Rosenfeld were at his bedside.

For the past two years Cantor Milkovsky was teacher of music in the United Hebrew Schools. He was for years a leader in Detroit and in Chicago in the Jewish National Fund work, Mrs. Milkovsky is the president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Jewish National Fund of this city.
