Two historical documents relating to geneology and religious rites of the 2,000-year-old Bene Israel community in India, have been donated to the library of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America by Shalome Haeem Rajpurker, the Kazi or spiritual head of the community, it was announced here today.
The documents, one dated 1799 and the other 1808, confirmed the rights and privileges of the Kazi and those of other community leaders.
