Simon Heads Maryland-virginia-washington Jewish Teachers

At the second annual convention of the Jewish Religious School Teachers’ Association of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia held here last week, Rabbi Edward N. Calisch of Richmond was elected honorary president and Rabbi Abram Simon of Washington, president. Other officers chosen were: Rabbi William Rosenau of Baltimore, vice-president; Rabbi Eugene Blachschlager of Richmond, secretary; and Rabbi A. Alan Steinbach of Norfolk, treasurer. Rabbi William Fineshriber of Philadelphia and Rabbi Henry Tavel of Wilmington, Del., addressed the convention at the Sabbath services. The general theme of the convention was the development of Jewish character.
