Sir Robert Mond, brother of the late Lord Melchett has been made a Chavalier of the Legion D’Honneur of France and an officer of the Order of Crown of Belgium, it was learned here today.
The honors were conferred upon him upon the completion of thirty years of archaeologic work as president of the Egypt Exploration Society.
Dr. Robert’s collection of Egyptian antiquities is regarded as the finest privately owned collection of its kind.
