Harry W. Solomon, president of Transcontinental Hotels, Inc., and one of the country’s leading hotel managers, has been appointed a member of the Chicago Board of Education by Mayor J. C. Kelly. Mr. Solomon’s appointment was confirmed by the City Council. He is the first Jew to serve on the school board since Jacob Loeb retired from that body about eight years ago.
