Some 70 percent of the computer software used in israel is pirated and leads to millions of dollars in annual losses for manufacturers, according to lawyers who appeared before an Israeli Knesset committee. The lawyers said the United States has threatened economic sanctions against Israel if it does not take steps to curb piracy. Police said 36 files had been opened against dealers allegedly selling the pirated software.
