The tent### South African Zionist Conference will ### begin on Tuesday evening, April 27th ### in the City Hall, Capetown.

Mr. Nahum Sokolow, who will arrive in Capetown on April 26th, will open the conference which will hold its sessions for several days. Dr. M. Hindes, who will attend the gathering, will collaborate with Mr. Sokolow in conducting the campaign for the Keren Hayesod which will be inaugurated on this occasion.

Dr. Raphael H. Melamed, rabbi of the Congregation B’nai Israel, Elizabeth, N. J., announced the launching of a drive for a new Y. M. Y. W. H. A. building. The campaign will have $100,000 as its goal. The first $75,000 will be used for the construction of a more adequate building for the city Y. M. Y. W. H. A. and the remaining $25,000 will be contributed to the United Jewish Campaign and the United Palestine Appeal.

A Bar Mitzvah will be heard over the radio for the first time today when WRNY will broadcast the confirmation of Nathan Ratner, at 2:30 p.m. The service will be performed by the Rev. Joseph Hoffman, the rabbi who performed the first Jewish wedding ever heard on the radio.
