Swedish members of Parliament have sent a request to the Parliament’s central committee to cut down Swedish support of UNESCO. A group of about 50 authors and well-known Swedish cultural figures have also sent a petition to the Swedish government requesting that there be “no cooperation with UNESCO as long as Israel is discriminated against.” Swedish aid to UNESCO in 1974 was 2.47 million Swedish Crowns. This year’s budget has set aside for this purpose 4.3 million Swedish Crowns.
